Our Baby

Twenty Months

New Pictures added on April 16

Clara is now twenty months old. We had our first chance to be single parents. Kristin went to Kiel, Germany for a week to attend a STEREO conference and Joe went to Las Vegas for a week to attend the Sungard Summit. Luckily, Clara's Commer grandparents came to visit, overlapping our absences. Still, it was an experience. Clara is very glad to have us both back. She is doing much better at expressing herself, although crying is still a large part of her vocabulary, especially when she doesn't get what she wants. She's starting to get her two-year molars, so her teeth have been hurting as well. Her attention span is quite good, especially when it comes to The Many Adventures of Winnie-the-Pooh - she can sit through the entire movie and then cry because we won't start it again. She's also getting quite tall and very heavy to carry around. She loves the cats and they are beginning to tolerate her. She also wants to pet every dog she sees.

On the run again.

Mama is my horse.

She's a very sleepy one right now.

C'mon, Mama. Wake up!

A picture of our backyard after the most recent snow. Nothing to do with Clara, but I thought it was pretty.

Clara reading her book.

She told us all about Judy and Paul.

Do you still have that camera on?

Clara now likes to sing her books. She sings about Paul and Judy and also yellow and yogurt in this one. (Video - 2.75 MB)

From the park looking down toward the river.

Looking out across the river.

Back toward the park. And there's Clara in the swing.

There's no better way to start a trip to the playground than swinging.

The breeze does wonders for my hair.

I see you!

What's going on over there?

Clara the climber.

Boy, this is a tall wall.

I'm going to make it.

Almost there!

We made it to the top. Now what?

Looking out over the world.

Clara sees something.

Ready for the big slide.

First we'll ride the frog.

Then the dinosaur.

I can do it by myself, Daddy.

These tubes are fun to crawl in.

Here I go in another one.

There's lots of static.

Let's end like we started - at the swings.

There really is nothing better.

This is the most fun I've had in ages.

Clara's favorite thing in the park is the swings. (Video - 1.75 MB)

Clara's Easter presents.

Some eggs on her piano.

And some on Daddy's.

Clara finds her first Easter egg.

Look! There are some more!

Here Mama. You take care of them.

How could I have missed these?

Who cares about the presents. There are more eggs!

Put them nicely in the basket...

And bring this one over.

Wow! I can pick up eggs and play at the same time!

Here's another...

And another... Will they never end?

Finally, time for reading.

Clara taking a nap with Daddy and Cassie.

More of the nap.

She's so peaceful when she's asleep.
